Ryder Cup Style Golf Tournament

We’re bringing the competitive spirit of the Ryder Cup to our camping trip with a fun and friendly two-day golf tournament!

The group will be divided into two teams based on age: Team Experience vs Team Youth.

Team Formation

Team Experience (Captain Josh): Our seasoned veterans, bringing years of golfing wisdom and course management.
Team Youth (Captain Ryan): The young guns, full of energy, long drives, and fearless putting.

Captains are responsible for strategizing pairings and matchups for both days of play.

Day 1 – Two-Man Best Score (Team Match Play)

Format: Two-man teams will be formed within each squad and paired against the opposing team's duo.
Each player plays their own ball. On each hole, the lower score of the two teammates is the team’s score.
The team with the lower score on the most holes wins the match.
Scoring: Each match is worth 2 points to the winning team. If a match is tied, each team gets 1 point.

Day 2 – Individual Match Play

Format: One-on-one matchups between members of Team Experience and Team Youth.
Each hole is played head-to-head, and the player who wins the most holes wins the match.
Scoring: Each individual match is worth 2 points. A tied match results in 1 point for each team.

Handicaps & Matchups

All matches—team and individual—will be played using player handicaps, to level the playing field and ensure competitive matches.
Each group will score in the app (to be provided) so that we can monitor the scoreboard while the round is in progress

There are 28 possible points so the first team to 14.5 points wins the Cup - and has bragging rights until next year
